Frequently Asked Questions

If you cannot find a solution to your problem below, do not hesitate to contact us. We'll help you resolve the problem as quickly as possible.

CAN'T OPEN OR READ E-BOOK

Do you have Winzip or Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer? You will need both programs to open and read our e-books. If you do have them, do they work? You may think you have them, but if you are having problems opening your e-book, there's a good chance you don't have one of them or the ones you do have are bad. Download your free versions today then restart your computer before opening the e-book.

Do you have the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader?

We use Adobe 5.0 and higher to develop our e-books. If you have an old version, you need to delete it off your computer. Turn off your computer, restart it and then download the newest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is free.

DID YOU GET A WEIRD MESSAGE?

Did a box pop up on your screen that says, “Pick program you want to use to open xx.zip file?”
That means you do not have Winzip on your computer. You will need to download it to your computer, install it on your computer, restart your computer, and then open the attachment again.

Did you download the e-book only to get a message that says, "Not a valid Win32 application" or "invalid path?"
That means you do not have Winzip on your computer. You will need to download it to your computer, install it on your computer, restart your computer, and then open the attachment again.

“Pick program you want to use to open xx.pdf file”
That means you do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer. You will need to download the adobe program to your computer, install it on your computer, restart your computer, go to your unzipped files, click on the title of the e-book, and open the book. Or you can simply go to your email, open the attached e-book, unzip it again, and then read it with your adobe program.

"Corrupted file"
That is because you've been trying to open your e-book without the proper tools. You either need a Winzip Tool or Adobe Acrobat Reader. It could also mean that the current programs you do have are bad. Please download a free version, delete the old e-book I sent you, restart your computer, and email me asking to send you another copy because of this problem.

"File was quarantined"
This means that your email program is not accepting attachments. Your computer basically detected the attachment and put it in a place on your computer or deleted it completely off your computer, so you couldn't open it. Go to your email account (outlook express) and click on tools, then options, then security, and then unclick the "do not allow attachments." Restart your computer, delete the old e-book from your email, and email me asking to resend the e-book because of this problem.

DID YOU GET AN ERROR MESSAGE?

"Windows cannot find Acrord 32.exe"
This error message is saying your computer cannot find and/or read Adobe Acrobat Reader. It could be that you have a corrupted file, the file is outdated, or you don't have the reader installed on your computer. Please install the latest version.

"File cannot read the file"
Make sure that you have the newest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader downloaded on your computer. Sometimes, people think they have the Adobe Acrobat Reader when in reality they have another Adobe program or their version is too old or corrupted.

If you do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader 3.0 or higher, you will experience problems opening the file. You need to delete your current version and then download the newest version, which is free. We make our e-books using Adobe Acrobat 5.0, with the ability to be read by 3.0 or later versions of the Adobe Acrobat Reader.

"Viewer cannot decrypt document"
This message means you do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer.

"Could not find color space CSO"
You need to download a newer version of Adobe Acrobat Reader.

"A font contains bad Cmap/ Encoding"
You need to download a newer version of Adobe Acrobat Reader.

"Compressed zipped folder is invalid or corrupted"
Could be that your Winzip program is too old or has a kink in it. You will need to uninstall or delete your Winzip program off your computer and re-install it.

MORE PROBLEMS...

Did the file come as a .dat program?
This happens when you do not have enough room in your email account to accept a large file. Clear out your old trash and emails you no longer need and request that your e-book be resent.

Are you having trouble downloading or reading your e-book?
It's important to clear your temporary internet files (cache). They take up a lot of space on your computer and can cause your computer to time out when downloading, not open certain documents or forms, and simply run very slowly.

To do so, you need to click on your start button, click on programs, then accessories, then system tools, then disk clean up, and finally click on C drive. Once at disk clean up, you would check the files you would like to delete, such as temporary files and temporary internet files.

Did you downloaded the e-book, but you don't know where you saved it?
